All Sun signs have strengths and unique attributes, however, there is one sign that was born to lead and inspire- the mighty Leo!
This month on Leadership Signs, we’re diving into how bringing a little Lion energy into your life can help you grow your leadership skills, and help you advance in your career.
Leo season officially starts July 23rd and ends Aug 22nd, but Leo traits can inspire leadership at any time during the year.
Leos are ruled by fire and the Sun, making them bold, ambitious born leaders. You generally know you’re talking to a Leo within a few minutes of conversation because their vivacious energy is captivating. Bold, charismatic and extremely persistent, Leos don’t give up in the face of adversity. Like Madonna, one of the most famous Leos, they not only excel at getting the spotlight, but once they have it, they don’t let go.
You’ll find a lot of Leos leading teams, even if the role didn’t start out that way. Their unwavering confidence inspires others to believe in whatever cause they are spearheading.
Let’s see how Leo’s natural leadership qualities can help inspire other Sun signs.
Aries (March 21 – April 19):
Combining the fire energy of Aries and Leo might sound intense, but not all fires burn equally. While both signs will stop at nothing to work towards a goal, Leos lead with persistence when it comes to finishing a project. This month Aries, utilize the laser-focus Leo season brings to conquer one project at a time.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20):
Tauruses are some of the most grounded people you’ll ever meet, but their calm and dependable working style can sometimes cause career stagnation. Tauruses can sometimes be resistant to change, striving instead to create harmony in their current environment. Remember that change can foster growth and leaning into Leo’s bold and take-charge energy can motivate you to take the bull by the horns and go after the role you deserve.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20):
As an air sign, Gemini’s are always willing to try something new and are very adaptable to change. They like to keep moving and this means they have their hands in a lot of pots and know a little bit about everything. Bringing in Leo energy can be as simple as spending time basking in your accomplishments before moving on to the next thing. Get comfortable accepting praise and compliments, you deserve it!
Cancer (June 21-July 22):
As the most emotional sign of the Zodiac, Cancers are dependable, empathetic, and self-sacrificing. These are great leadership qualities, however, Cancers tend to stay out of high-profile positions to avoid getting hurt or embarrassed. This month Cancer, you can benefit from embracing Leo’s high self-confidence and belief that they can achieve anything. It’s time to embrace your strength and walk forward instead of doing the crab side-to-side shuffle.
Leo (July 23- August 22):
Since Leo’s are the star of the show this month, our advice is to lean into all that makes you bold, self-assured and charismatic! Help inspire others around you and lend your fire whenever you can.
Virgo (August 23-September 22):
Virgos are all about perfection, practicality and problem-solving. They like to analyze every detail and think of the perfect solution to fix any mess. Sometimes this overthinking can cause Virgo’s to get lost in the details and slow down progress. Virgo, this Leo season, you can evolve by adopting a tried-and-true Leo strategy- do more and think less.
Libra (September 23- October 22):
Since they live for balance and have air energy on their side, Libras are great at maintaining relationships. As leaders, Libras tend to mentor with a quiet energy, and sometimes they make tough compromises in order to maintain balance. This season Libra, you can bring out your inner Lion by standing firmly in your beliefs and use your Libran charisma to get others on your side.
Scorpio (October 23- November 21):
Scorpios are mysterious, passionate and can make magnetic leaders. Scorpios rule transformation and have the ability to strengthen and motivate any team. Sometimes, Scorpio’s intensity and seriousness can intimidate others. Our advice to you this Leo season is to conjure up a little fun and let your team get to the know the parts of you they rarely see.
Sagittarius (November 22- December 21):
It’s true that Sagittarian’s are the Zodiacs party sign, but they are great at much more than having fun! This enthusiastic fire sign is an idea generator and once a Sagittarian is excited about an idea, everyone around them will be too. This is great quality in a leader, but since Sagittarians love the big picture, they need someone else to own the details. Take a lead from Leos “get it done” energy by delegating detail work to the perfectionists on your team (looking at you Virgos) so you can focus on the end goal.
Capricorn (December 22- January 19):
Capricorns like to be in charge- and why wouldn’t they? They are practical, ambitious, organized, efficient and often lead projects or teams. Capricorns always have their eye on the prize, but this level of focus can sometimes cause them to seem a little cold or detached. Like Leos, Capricorns have a great sense of humor. This Leo season, try cracking some jokes with your team and let your funny side out.
Aquarius (January 20- February 18):
Aquarians love nothing more than coming up with new ideas and collaborating with others. These are great leadership qualities but that same air energy can also cause Aquarians to get a little lost in the clouds. Experiment with invoking a little of Leo’s fire energy to help you focus on the project at hand.
Pisces (February 19- March 20):
Pisces make great people managers due to their highly compassionate and sympathetic nature. Notoriously shy and timid, you often find Pisces working behind the scenes. This season, challenge yourself to spend some time in the spotlight, you never know, you might like it.
